The Good Shepherd Ranch

The Good Shepherd Ranch is committed to providing:

1. A place of sanctuary, rest, structure and nourishment to those children in need

2. Dependable, loving, and stable house parents who are committed to the children’s care and well being for the long term
3. Help for children in school and social settings through mentors tutors, psychologists, and physicians
4. A comfortable house where the children can establish their own personal space with only two children sharing a bedroom and bathroom
5. A program to teach children how to care for themselves and their environment, as well as caring for animals and tending vegetable and/or flower gardens
6. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY showing each child how much he is loved by God, and help them discover God’s plan for their lives

What makes us different from other facilities for children in North Georgia?

This program is not dependent upon governmental funding or private insurance. It is funded by private donations, church contributions and grants.

There is no time limit placed on how long a child will be allowed to stay. At The Good Shepherd Ranch, the duration of our program is unlimited, and children who reach the age of majority will not be required to leave until they have adequate life skills to do so. It is estimated that children will stay at the ranch from 3 months to 5 years.

Parental involvement is not mandatory. Although we realize that optimal results could be obtained by parental involvement, circumstances do not make this possible in some cases.
